Duties:
- Production, installation, servicing and maintenance of cooling and air conditioning systems, heat pumps and other climate control equipment.
- Undertaking leak, safety and other quality-related inspections
- Laying cables and installing pipework
- Dismantling plant, systems and components of cooling and air conditioning equipment
- Reading and understanding technical plans, design drawings, work drawings
- Recycling refrigerants, coolants and refrigerator oils
Training covers:
- Metalworking, joining techniques, electrics and electronics
- Control and environmental technology, cooling circuits
- Use of mechanical, electric and electronic measuring and inspection equipment
- Functionality tests, maintenance and repair of cooling and air conditioning equipment
- Reading and where necessary producing diagrams and drawings, circuit and wiring diagrams
- Production of cooling and air conditioning assemblies, up to completion of systems
- Production of electronic controllers
Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry, flair for manual work
- Technical understanding, head for heights, flexibility
- Environmental awareness, commitment and sense of responsibility
- Capacity for teamwork and willingness to learn
The training:
- Duration three and a half years
- Carried out in a training organisation led by a master craftsman
- Our apprentices also attend vocational college
